My earliest memories are of creating art.  While studying art in college, I realized that I possessed a very limited view of the world and of the role of art in diverse cultures throughout history.  I put my art studies on hold and began to study foreign languages to learn different perspectives and to analyze my own creativity.  I attended college in Mexico, France and Puerto Rico, obtaining a BA in Spanish and then another BA in French.  After finishing my graduate certification in translation I worked as a translator and interpreter for 14 years. My insatiable curiosity for art and culture has taken me to 24 countries on 5 continents. During my linguistic studies, travels and career, I continued to explore different creative mediums including painting, photography, screen-printing, furniture, sculpture and jewelry design at the Atlanta College of Art, Georgia State University and the Escuela de Artes Plásticas (San Juan, PR).   I received my BFA in furniture from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco.  My experiences and travels have given me a much broader view of art and the world and have taught me to not only scrutinize my own art but also my motivation. I don’t strive to copy reality or to recreate what I observe but rather to interpret my experiences and emotions through color and shape and to create something that originates exclusively in my own mind.

To explore without boundary; the world and my own intellect without hesitation through creating in environment that embraces diversity and original thought;

To express without opinion; to opinionate clouds the ability to truly see. I desire to see all things--figuratively and literally. I wish to foster the ability to simply observe without judging. To express myself with this foundation, lifts me to a higher place that is free from self-limitation.

To exclaim without provocation; exclamation based on emotional reaction is mundane. To embrace my own power to exclaim, not as the result of something, but as the genesis for something requires courage, stamina and self-familiarization.

To experience without limit; to reach the farthest extremes of my mind and imagination, the limitless expanse of the universe, to make the internal voyage as adventurous as the external one.

To extrapolate without hindrance; to be completely liberated to never cease my experimentation, conjecture and hypotheses about myself, my place in the universe and my capacity to accomplish;

To expand without self-flagellation; the only true fear is self-imposed, therefore, it is absolutely necessary that I feel confident to create without reticence or doubt.

To exuberate without hesitation; overflowing with the passion to express myself through creative means with complete abandon is the epitome of self-fulfillment.

To excite without encumbrance; to reveal my hopes, jubilation and positivity without focusing solely on a predetermined outcome or fixating on an ulter ior benefit.

To exult without attachment; I must experience unbridled bliss through my artistic expression without feeling attachment to the results. Each creative production is solely an ephemeral experience meant to reveal more about myself to me and to others.

To exist without regret...
